Senior Software Engineer – Logistics Applications

As part of the applications team, you’d be working on the innovative apps that rely on flexible and agile architecture to solve various problems in logistics domain.

Role

  • You will be a key member of application engineering team to build out applications based on HyperTrack’s location and mapping cloud
  • Process real-time contextual location data streams from devices on the move, and generate application-aware ground truth
  • Build algorithms and heuristics to infer activity, places, routes, distances and other enrichments on top
  • Optimize trips for static, dynamic and flexible fulfillment with scheduled and on-demand orders, factoring in availability, capacity, slots, routes and live location
  • Work on challenging user/ team onboarding flows, to make it simple for developers and decision makers alike, and integrate with our applications
  • Use machine learning and feedback loops to enrich location and mapping features, and improve accuracy that aligns to customized business configurations
  • Directly interact with users to listen for the business problem, identify solutions, and then work closely with them to deliver them through the product

Responsibilities

  • Write and test product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on service operations and quality.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with application development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching application software, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience developing large-scale distributed systems, and/or experience with cloud technologies, storage architecture.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience developing logistics and e-commerce applications.
